| Description: |
This book gives brief descriptions of 695 glass and porcelain insulator
patents including patent number, date issued, inventor's name, and a
sketch of the patent drawing. It is a great aid to the collector
wishing to learn more about the design considerations of particular
insulators and the history associated with it. Many early insulators
were not patented; however, inventors soon wished to seek protection for
their novel ideas. Some of the patented ideas were never converted to
working insulators and it is interesting to speculate why they were
never produced. The book is a good reference for researching patent
date markings found on all insulators. |
